Meet me Halfway
€105.00
I painted this following a residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Monaghan, Ireland. It was inspired by the fish pond on the grounds and the trees across the lake. I liked the way the shape of the fish echoes the shape of the bird with fins instead of wings. The piece is open to interpretation with some people seeing the bird about to eat the fish or the pair about to kiss. Others see the bird expecting his reflection in the water surprised instead by the fish. Birds represent freedom and the link between heaven and earth. Fish symbolise knowledge and prophecy.
